National Museum Of The Pacific War
While many World War II museums focus on the war in Europe, this impressive museum focuses on the war in the Pacific. For history buffs, this museum is one of the top things to do in Fredericksburg TX.
The museum houses over 55,000 square feet of exhibit space, including a memorial courtyard, the Plaza of Presidents, the Japanese Garden of Peace, and the George H. W. Bush Gallery. This museum is also home to the Nimitz Gallery which showcases exhibits from the life and career of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, a Fredericksburg TX native.
The National Museum of the Pacific War is Open Wednesday – Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and free for children age five or younger.

Fredericksburg Herb Farm – A Hill Country Escape

Fredericksburg Theater Company
Spend an enchanted evening in a small, 250-seat theater, enjoying not just a local theater company but an excellent local theater company!
The Fredericksburg Theater Company was founded by Jeryl Hoover in 1997, to “entertain, educate, enrich and inspire.”
The company performs at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater, just outside of downtown Fredericksburg. Performances are held on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, with a matinee show on Sundays at 2:00 pm. Check their website for show information and to purchase tickets.
Willow City Loop
If you are lucky enough to be visiting Fredericksburg TX, in the spring, then a scenic drive on the Willow City Loop should be at the top of your must-do list. The best time to visit is when the wildflowers are in bloom, usually from March to May.
The loop is a 13-mile route across hills and valleys with a stunning view of meadows filled with wildflowers. Most of the flowers are the colorful Texas state flower, bluebonnets. However, you will also see sunflowers, poppies, and other blooming wildflowers.
You can find the loop by heading north from Fredericksburg on State Route 16 towards Willow City. While most people will drive the route, riding your bike and enjoying a slower-paced visit is also possible.
Fort Martin Scott Historic Site
Visit the first U.S. Army outpost on the TX frontier. The fort was used by the Army from 1848 to 1852. It was also used as a camp by the Texas Rangers before and after that time.

The fort is managed by the neighboring Texas Rangers Center. Fort Martin Scott is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, admission is free, and tours are self-guided.
Texas Rangers Heritage Center
Just outside of Fredericksburg TX, the Texas Rangers Heritage Center is dedicated to honoring this elite group of law enforcement agents.
Visitors can tour the open-air pavilion to see a display of artifacts and the Ranger Ring of Honor. The Soaring Memorial is also located here, dedicated to those Texas Rangers who gave their lives in service to the people of TX.
A new building is currently under construction, which will house artifacts and immersive exhibits on the history of the Texas Rangers.
